Cape Town's Best Restaurants

Category Advice

The Mother City is known for her cultural diversity, trendy mood and love for fun! With this comes all kinds of entertainment, activity and indulgences - one of them being food! If you're a foodie, that is a good enough reason alone to make Cape Town your home base!

4 of Our Favourite Places to Dine

Boasting some of the finest restaurants in South Africa - amongst which some have received global recognition - these foodie favourites are not only popular for their tasty menus, but for their unique and rich atmospheres.

Here are some of the top restaurants to experience in Cape Town:

La Colombe

You'll find this impressive restaurant on the slopes of the Constantiaberg mountain and perfectly placed on the Silvermist Estate. Known for their spectacular dishes that show off artistry in each meal, this restaurant knows how to leave your jaw on the ground!

La Columbe is no stranger to S.Pellegrino's World's 50 Best Restaurants, amongst other titles such as Trip Advisor's Best Fine Dining Restaurant in the World! Headed by multi-award-winning chef-proprietor Scot Kirton and executive chef James Gaag, La Columbe finds inspiration from delicate, French-Asian flavours and offers up to 8-course meals! We would highly recommend treating yourself to a trip to La Colombe.

Salsify

Looking over the breathtaking Atlantic Ocean, Camps Bay beachfront and Twelve Apostles mountainscape, there is no better location for the much-loved restaurant Salsify at the Roundhouse

The interior juxtaposes a clean and elegant design with avant-garde furnishings, topped off with street artist Skull Boy's raw graffiti wrapping the walls. Co-owned by Luke Dale Roberts and Ryan Cole - whose father was a fisherman - this restaurant takes noticeable inspiration from the sea, and we love it!

Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia

Rated among the best in Cape Town by seven of the country's top chefs, Liam Tomlin's Chef Warehouse Beau Constantia restaurant is definitely one of our favourites! One of five sister restaurants all owned by chef Tomlin, the location looking out onto Cape Town's beautiful Constantia valley has quickly earned its popularity, and for good reason.

The restaurant is known for its tapas-style menu that embraces top-quality seasonal ingredients and South-East Asian flavours, using locally grown produce, some of which come straight from the Beau Constantia farm.

Greenhouse

Greenhouse prides itself on their sourcing of fresh, local ingredients and creative plating of mouth-watering meals. With a strong focus on sustainability and preserving local culture and history, head chef Farrel Hirschtheir prepares his menu to embrace unique flavours and tells a story with his food.

Whether you're enjoying lunch with a lovely garden view from inside the glass oasis, or a sophisticated dinner with a warm and moody atmosphere, you are guaranteed an impressive experience at Greenhouse!
